All of my teen years were in the 70's. Even though I love lots of 70's music, my heart is still with the 60's music. Your pages are very informational and very cool with all the 70's pics! I'll be back soooon! :)

Name: David Massey Email: dmassey@bellsouth.net Location: Kennesaw, GA, USA Referred by: a search engine Age Group: 45-55 Favorite Feature: I like them equally Comments: This brings back a lot of memories of my college years and early years of marrage! Strange how some of the songs listed here seem to be a lot more recent than the seventies! Maybe it's because so many of today's groups are redoing a lot of "blasts from the past" and the music of the decades are kind of bluring together. Now where did I put my earth shoes and bell bottom pants? David

Name: DeNese Bell Email: ddbell@swbell.net Referred by: just surfed in Age Group: 25-34 Favorite Feature: Seventies Music Trivia Quiz Favorite Act(s): Lynard Skynard Comments: I feel right at home here!

Name: Lynn Medeiros Email: lmedeiros@earthlink.net Referred by: just surfed in Age Group: 35-44 Favorite Feature: I like them equally Favorite Act(s): I don't have one (there are too many) Comments: Just had to say I really have been enjoying this page. The seventies was a great decade for music and many other things as well. Thanks for "the blast from the past" as I have always called it. Maybe since some of the seventies styles are coming back, the music might be influenced as well.

Name: Jobar Email: obar@interlog.com Location: Toronto, Canada Referred by: just surfed in Age Group: under25 Favorite Feature: I like them equally Favorite Act(s): Led Zepplin Comments: You have an incredible site!! I'm 17 and have in the past year or two, really gotten into seventies music. I'm a huge fan of Zepplin, Boston, Floyd, Santana, Clapton, The Guess Who, Petty, you name it!!! I'm even doing a project on how the music of the 70's is so much better and different than the music of the 90's and I've used your page in my research. (Hope you don't mind) I was born in 1979 so I missed the 70's but the music lives on and is the best ever!!!

Name: keith anderson Email: keith@bfm.com Location: New York city Referred by: a search engine Age Group: 35-44 Favorite Feature: Seventies Almanac Comments: thank you. I am having a 70's party in New York City on October 25 and this is far and away the best web site for info/ideas. Name: Rex Hickey Email: spud@highland.net Location: Tennessee Referred by: a search engine Age Group: 35-44 Favorite Feature: I like them equally Favorite Act(s): Lynyrd Skynyrd Comments: Thank God platform shoes and afros went out of style because I was and am afraid of heights and all that hair kept me from maintaining my balance. My students (6th and 7th graders) look at our styles like something from the Dark Ages, but, it is interesting to note that a bunch of their modern stuff is hauntingly familiar. I wil turn 38 in just two weeks, and there are times I miss the 70's, but, I think I miss my hair and thin figure even more. My two sons (8 and 6) think all of my high school annuals are funny too. Just missed our 20th reunion because I don't feel that old. Besides, this newly pierced ear may not have settled well with the 'preps' who were probably the only ones to show up.

Name: Kopiasz Email: Kopiasz@geocities.com Referred by: a search engine Age Group: 35-44 Favorite Feature: I like them equally Favorite Act(s): Eagles, Pink Floyd, Jackson Browne Comments: good work. For those of us on a nostalgia trip, or for rock-n-roll neophytes, your site is a blast from the past. I especially enjoyed the reviews, spotlighting the more-educated-than-thou critics of the era.

Just going thru the events was enough to making my mind wander back to when things were still simple and fads like the pet rock, lava lamps, and the yellow smiley face were all the rage. Once again thanks for making my day.

Name: mike butcher Email: butcher@bellsouth.net Location: lawrenceville, georgia ( atlanta metro area) Referred by: just surfed in Age Group: 45-55 Favorite Feature: The Classic 300 Favorite Act(s): free, h pie, d purple, s faces, kiss, stones Comments: glad to drop by and return to a great time in rock and roll. decided i better sign in, after several visits, to help keep your page safe and there for me in the future. thanks for providing the almanac detail, it's far better to have my teenagers get onto this portion, and get the sense of what it was like, to get the best understanding of what was going on at that time. we appreciate your work and efforts to provide this site... best wishes !!!!! mike butcher

Name: Jack Carroll Email: kevxu@worldnet.att.net Location: New York City Referred by: a Usenet post/sig Age Group: 45-55 Favorite Feature: I like them equally Favorite Act(s): soul & dance music, too difficult to pick one Comments: Interesting to see someone else's 70's. Speaking for myself the seventies were soul and dance music, that was about 90% of what was played in the bars and clubs I went to, as well as by my friends. The rock that's featured here was music of a whole other kind of Seventies, stuff I heard in passing but never collected, never heard in clubs. Still, it's part of the Seventies territory - if not my part - lots of hard work went into the site, and I found it very interesting.

Name: Deborah Loebe-Anderson Email: Tima@mail.ic.net Referred by: just surfed in Age Group: 35-44 Comments: Hi This was a fun page to explore, the next time I come in I'll wear my mood ring, earth shoes, and Angel Flight jeans!

Name: Kathy Dean Email: kad@mail.microserve.net Referred by: just surfed in Age Group: 35-44 Comments: My husband Dennis and I are both "children of the seventies". Boston and Kansas are our absolute favorites (with my personal seconds being Journey and Chicago). We both resent that the seventies are defined by disco. We hated disco then and we hate disco now! Any way, it's great to touch base with fellow "seventy-ers"!

Here's some info on a new book I've co-written on the music of 1971-75: PRECIOUS AND FEW: Pop Music in the Early Seventies by Don Breithaupt & Jeff Breithaupt St. Martin's Griffin $9.95 "Three-time Juno Award nominee Don Breithaupt is the singer/songwriter behind Monkey House, whose 1992 Aquarius/EMI debut included three Top 20 hits. "Jeff Breithaupt is the Director of Sponsorship for the New York City Opera, a Trustee of Paul Newman's new Blue Light Theater Co. and a freelance journalist." QUOTE: "We do not intend to apologize for the seventies. We know the decade was an orgy of ridiculous trends, facile sloganeering and blow-dried, self-involved, edible-underwear-munching talk show guests. The thing is, those strange days produced a bumper crop of great popular music. The half-decade between 1971 and 1975 saw the emergence of Steely Dan, Randy Newman, Al Green, Elton John, Rufus, Roxy Music, Bruce Springsteen, Todd Rundgren, Earth, Wind & Fire, Leon Russell, David Bowie, the Eagles, James Taylor, Rod Stewart, Jackson Browne, Carole King, War, Isaac Hayes, the Staple Singers, Tower of Power, Little Feat, Hall & Oates, and Dr. John."
