Not the album that turned me on to Kiss, that was Rock and Roll Over, raw and nasty. Destroyer was a little too polished. Bob Ezrin is not for everyone. Most bands bring in ghost musicians for one reason or another. Most live albums are not live albums. Always touched up. So if you’re the Bradleyss, be consistent, and call out all hard rock bands for using session musicians and altered live recordings. It’s probably 70% of artists.
You need to get a life and g.f.y.!

A bad band saved by a great producer. They couldn't play--hence all the studio hacks on their studio LPs and all the overdubs on their "live" records--and they wrote pretty pedestrian songs.
But the construction of Detroit Rock City? Pretty amazing.

When it was my 10th birthday, my dad took me to the End of The Road Tour in Boston. I was so excited about it! We had seats all the way in the back, and could still feel the pyrotechnics from there! It was a hellvua time. I will never forgot that one in a lifetime experience.
Thank you Kiss for being the light in my life, you’ve always pulled me out of my deepest hole.

This was my first rock album. My mom promised me if they came to the New Haven (CT) Coliseum that I could go. Well they did come, in I think 79, but she said no.
I never forgave her for that.
I wound up seeing them 4 times after that……
Kind of overrated

this is a classic album, but I personally feel it’s overrated. Detroit Rock City is legendary for a good reason, but beyond that it’s just okay. I don’t care for KoTNW, Great Expectations is bad, and Beth I also don’t care for. Flaming Youth starts great, but why did they use that stupid circus organ? It ruins the song. The rest of the songs I like, but I could do without the kids’ whining and random noises in God of Thunder.
