Best album since Load. Great combo of 80’s and 90’s Metallica.

Sounding like old Metallica is what I’m sure the fans want more than anything, but it’s not doing it for me. If I want old Metallica, I’d listen to old Metallica. It’s good, but not great. I’d give if 3.5/5

I’m never gonna understand why fans dislike Metallica’s new stuff. Hardwired to self destruct really takes you for a ride from the start, and, in my opinion, their best record since Master Of Puppets. They aren’t retiring any time soon

When I listen to this it feels like a whole mother band in a way. This is nothing compared to The old school stuff. My top 5 Metallica albums: Master of puppets Kill em all Ride the lightning Metallica ( Black Album ) …and justice for all.

I was so happy that this band got back to what made it great in the first place with Death Magnetic.. but With this album?!?& Sheesh! loved this album as much as In Justice for All “my opinion” that is.. Lars seems to have found his passion again.. the last several albums he just did the number by number work .. but this album .. just like Danny Carry did with TOOLS,FEAR INNOCULUM .. became the albums MVP PERIOD ! Make sure to get the Deluxe Edition of … Self destruct.. the live songs plus the 4 covers made it worth WIRED.. “rimshot”

A definite improvement over DM, and reaching back to what made this band a living legend. Still buzzy, annoying guitar tones.

What separates Metallica from being just another thrash metal band is that despite being pioneers, despite age, and despite the ever changing industry, they have evolved and survived. While this might not be on the same level as the first 4 albums, it’s still better than a lot of the junk we hear on the airwaves today. These guys show they have still got it and can rock harder than anyone!

Amazing album and it has gotten me through the crazy times we are in right now! Awesome work!

I challenge you to listen to this entire album in the background of whatever else you may be doing and try determine when one song ends and then next begins. Point being, this album feels like every song is basically a slightly different take on the one before it; none of which are special. The all sound the same. The saving grace is we don’t see Unforgiven IV or more lullabies like Nothing Else Matters...but these songs still put you to sleep.

This album is a great return to form for the band; and one hell of a ride too! I believe this album is a nice culmination of the band's evolution through the years. There are thrash heavy songs such as "Spit Out The Bone" that are reminiscient of their early years. Others like "Hardwired" remind the listener of the Black Album or Justice. I would have loved more solos from Kirk but overall I feel Hardwired... is a solid addition to Metallica's discography.
