THE ADVENTURES OF TOM SAWYER It's not the definitive Mark Twain classic, but not entirely abysmal, either. If your kids haven't seen any of the numerous versions available, they might enjoy the antics of Tom, his pal Huckleberry Finn, and the villianous Injun Joe. But no film of this tale has ever truly captured the earthy humor and twangy charm of the original. Average. Buy the DVD/VHS at Amazon.com.
THE AFFAIR Sensitive, careful handling of a 30-ish female songwriter with polio (Wood) experiencing her first love affair with a lawyer (Wagner). Excellent cast, expert script by Barbara Turner. Above average. Buy the DVD/VHS at Amazon.com.

A sordid tale, with McCloskey aping Jon Voight's Midnight Cowboy characterization. Average. Buy the DVD/VHS at Amazon.com.
ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT It isn't often that a TV remake can hold its own with a recognized movie classic, but this expertly crafted and memorably acted drama bears comparison with its illustrious 1930 Hollywood original. Although it lacks the power of its distinguished predecessor, this credible production touches our emotions and shakes us out of our complacency as it unfolds the tale of an idealistic German student turned soldier who comes of age on a World War I battlefield. The pain and anger of Remarque's antiwar novel is captured with force and incisiveness, making this another enduring pacifist drama. Above average. Buy the DVD/VHS at Amazon.com.
ALL YOU NEED IS CASH All You Need Is Cash was a film spoof on The Beatles featuring a satirical group calling themselves The Rutles. The group, comprised of Ron Nasty (Innes), Dirk McQuickly (Idle), Stig O'Hara (Fataar), and Barry Wom (Halsey), portrayed characters based on The Beatles and performed original material, written by Innes, based on The Beatles' music. The show aired in the U.S. on March 22, 1978, and included a cameo appearance by ex-Beatle George Harrison. The idea for The Rutles was conceived by Idle, who first presented a film of the group performing which was shown on the NBC-TV show Saturday Night Live. Above average. Buy the DVD/VHS at Amazon.com.
THE AMAZING HOWARD HUGHES A surprisingly colorless account of the reclusive millionaire's life. Jones' dull performance is easily overshadowed by Flanders as associate Noah Dietrich and Feldshuh as Katherine Hepburn. But there is occasional intrigue in this ambitious production. Buy the DVD/VHS at Amazon.com.

THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF MISS JANE PITTMAN Acclaimed drama from Ernest J. Gaines' epic novel covering, through the memories of a fictional 110-year-old slave (Tyson), the black experience from the Civil War to the start of the civil rights movement. THE BIONIC WOMAN This series pilot is right up there with earth shoes, disco dancing, and Watergate among the important reasons we should all be embarrassed that the 1970s ever happened. We admit it: we preferred Lindsay Wagner running in slow motion as Jaime Sommers to robot Lee Majors as robot Steve Austin, but really! Wagner's winsomeness doesn't overcome the nonsensical plot. This is what you bought a VCR to escape. Buy the DVD/VHS at Amazon.com.

THE BOY IN THE PLASTIC BUBBLE A teenager is forced to live in physical and emotional isolation, having been born with an immunity deficiency, and is faced with a life or death situation when he falls in love with girl next door. Also known as Kojak and the Marcus-Nelson Murders. Above average. Buy the DVD/VHS at Amazon.com. THE MIRACLE WORKER Powerful refilming of the William Gibson classic about young Helen Keller's first encounters with Anne Sullivan, who would be her teacher and life-long companion. Having Patty Duke Astin, who won an Oscar as Keller in a 1962 big screen version -- play Sullivan was more a novelty than an inspired piece of casting, making this one just a notch below its predecessor. Still above average. Followed by a tele-sequel in 1984, Helen Keller: The Miracle Continues, about Helen's college years and beyond. Buy the DVD/VHS at Amazon.com. THE MISSILES OF OCTOBER Originally an ABC Theatre presentation, this well-handled depiction of President Kennedy's trials during the Cuban missile crisis was one of television's first docudramas. The blend of suspense and history lesson, though less powerful than it could be, stands up nicely. William Devane's superb portrayal (he was one of the first actors to play JFK) brought him a great deal of attention, and Martin Sheen provides fine support as brother Robert. Above average. Buy the DVD/VHS at Amazon.com. THE MISSING ARE DEADLY Suspense tale about the panic caused when a disturbed teenager takes a rat infected with a deadly virus from his father's lab. Average. MRS. SUNDANCE The further adventures of Etta Place, the widow of The Sundance Kid (of Butch Cassidy and... fame), who leads a fugitive's existence frightened by the memory of her late husband. Average; the character was later played by Katherine Ross, who originated the role, in Wanted: The Sundance Woman. Buy the DVD/VHS at Amazon.com. A television landmark by Richard Levinson and William Link; this movie earned a theatrical showing after its debut on TV. Above average. Buy the DVD/VHS at Amazon.com. THE NIGHT STALKER A wise-guy reporter is assigned to a series of strange murders in Las Vegas. A near-brilliant mixture of double-edged horror, comedy; well-constructed script by Richard Matheson. THE NIGHT STRANGLER Sequel to The Night Stalker finds McGavin eking out a living in Seattle; he latches onto a series of murders involving blood drainage by syringe, discovers a secret, underground city and its lone "resident." Adapted by Jim Byrnes from Charles Eisenstein's novel The Blackjack Hijack. Above average. Buy the DVD/VHS at Amazon.com. ORDEAL Mohave Desert location shooting enhances this morality tale of a scheming wife (Muldaur) abandoning her broken-legged husband (Hill) in the wilderness. THE PEOPLE A young teacher taking a job in a desolate area discovers she's got out-of-the-ordinary kids for students. Adapted from Evan Rhodes' ingratiating novel. Above average. QB VII Leon Uris's effective courtroom drama introduced the mini-series to a mass American audience, and like many of its successors, this one is a mixture of the soapy and the serious, the oversimplified and the genuinely compelling. The case is libel: The plaintiff is a respected Jewish doctor (Anthony Hopkins) and the defendant is an American author (Ben Gazzara) who painted him as a war criminal in a thinly disguised characterization in a novel. Based on a real suit brought against Uris after the publication of Exodus. Fine acting from all the principals, especially Jack Hawkins and Emmy-winner Anthony Quayle. Above average. Average. SCENES FROM A MARRIAGE A passionate, probing and honest look at a marriage, its disintegration, and the relationship that follows. eliz (Dec. 2024) I am trying to identify a TV movie from the 1970s, maybe late '60's, but I think the '70's. It involved a pregnant young wife who, with the help of an older man (a historian?), researches the history of the location of the house she's living in. It turns out that the house was built on the site of a witch's execution. The film ends with the statement that the child the young wife is carrying grows up to have an odd laugh, like the witch who was executed on the site centuries. I've tried to identify this movie for years. Please help. ----- John Snelling (Jun. 2024) I'm just curious about a fantasy movie from the 70s. maybe a TV movie from America or Canada that features an actress who portrays God in some kind of inn or Haus in a forest. I saw this one when I was a kid and only have a vague recollection of it. But there is a scene where the actress playing God is in her room with a bodybuilder. Seem like an interesting weird movie definitely a fantasy and not a sci-fi movie. ----- Jacqueline (Mar. 2024) There was a tv movie or special in the 70's or early 80's about a "cool" guy who is forced to give his nerdy stepsister (?) a ride and they get stuck in a snow storm. She has this little dog that she takes everywhere with her and it gets killed by a wolf or coyote. Does this ring a bell at all? Thanks! llc114@aol.com (Apr. 2024) The movie was called "Snowbound", from the late 70s, supposedly an Afterschool Special and is on Youtube. She played a plain Jane girl and she needs a ride and the cute popular guy just had a fight with his girlfriend so he gives her one, and crashes in a large park during a heavy snowstorm. A pack of wild dogs gets her little Yorkie, which was sad. The guy is injured and she helps him to walk to be rescued. At the end she visits him in the hospital. ----- Guy in Florida (Dec. 2023) In the very late 1970s or very early 1980s, I saw a TV movie about a contemporary American family and their struggles. It had one very powerful scene where the daughter of the family was living with her rock star what-to-be boyfriend and after she reveals she is pregnant, they fight and she commits suicide. Does anyone know the title of this movie? Thank you in advance. ----- Elizabeth Zito (Oct. 2022) I remember seeing "JT & His Cat" with a very young Kevin Hooks on the CBS Children's Hour in approximately 1969/1970 on TV. I saw another made-for-TV movie in the same anthology show about a ghetto teenager who becomes addicted to drugs and dies at the end. Any idea what the TV movie is called. Thanks! ----- cvmcarthur1953 (Sep. 2022) Movie of woman having an affair with a married man. He supports her. He has a heart attack and dies while they were making love. She has nothing when he dies. His assistant tells her he cannot help her. She is forced to become an escort at the end of the movie at the influence of her friend. Her friend sends her to a spa where she gets the full beauty treatment. The movie has Jacqlyn Smith , not Victoria Principal. The movies are similar , but at the end she is making a contract with a rich middle eastern man. ----- Nancy Zuniga (Jul. 2022) I'm looking for a '70s made-for-tv movie about a brother and sister who entered the United States illegally from Mexico in search of a better life. The sister ended up dying from bubonic plague after she was bitten by a rat while going through some underground pipes. junekorobinson@gmail.com (Aug. 2022) This sounds like the 1983 indy film El Norte. It was shown on PBS as well as in the theater. Cheers, Juneko ----- Keith Ledford (Jun. 2022) Looking for a movie possibly made for tv, late 70s early 80s. About a west Midwest family who after losing their father, the mother moves them to california, where the teenaged brother and sister find it hard to fit in. The brother falls for the girlfriend of the popular guy at high school. The brother befriends a need at the high school. At the end there is a van or car race in the surf, one car overturns in the surf with the tide coming in. Any help appreciated. ----- James Mcelroy (Apr. 2022) 2 tv movies I remember from the 80's One is about a woman who was in a coma 20 years and suddenly wakes up and still thinks she's a teenager. I think it was Elizabeth Montgomery but I'm not sure The other is about a housewife who's husband has some kind of business but only gives her 20 dollars a week to buy groceries. While they're having an argument his pet bird gets loose and he dies trying to catch it. I have reference guides for TV movies but can't find either of these. Alan Robinson (Jan. 2023) The Elizabeth Montgomery movie is Between the Darkness and the Dawn 1985. ----- Klockwork Designz (Apr. 2022) Hi there I'm looking for a movie I watched at home as a child. It was a 60's of 70's movie. I think it takes place in a childrens home. The person who runs it is wicked beyond belief. In one scene a girl is kept in the basement and deprived of water. The woman literally takes water down and lets the poor girl see it and then takes it away. It tormented me so badly as a child & now I drink water all the time & have a fear of dying of thirst! They did such a good job of showing the desperation the girl was going through. Ugh still haunts me!! Thanks in advance Barry Yuen (CSC/SCC) (Feb. 2024) It's not a made for TV movie. It's called BLOOD AND LACE. ----- Tanya DeCharles (Apr. 2022) I'm looking for a movie that my grade school showed my class on a reel-to-reel movie projector in the 70s. A man goes on a fantasy-style quest for immortality. But after all his efforts- at the end of his quest- he drinks from a fountain to become mortal again so that he can be with the lady he loves. As soon as he drinks the water, a little bit of gray shows up in his hair. ----- TheMerryNeedle (Apr. 2022) I am searching for an absorbing movie, possibly with Stephanie Zimbalist or Kristin Crosby ( the actress who "shot" JR on Dallas). A child goes missing, and many years later a young woman shows up and seems to truly be the missing girl. At the end, even though the grandma knows it isn't her, she doesn't care. Just trying to find this because it's one I watched with my mom and big sister, now gone. Thank you. nmbr18@aol.com (May 2022) The movie you asked about on Super seventies is "Caroline?" With Stephanie Zimbalist. ----- Robert McRobbie (Feb. 2022) Looking for a movie where people are being possessed I think witches and warlocks, and at the end the main character's husband who is trying to fight the evil disappears and then the wife sees him in a park as a mounted policeman and he doesn't acknowledge her. The male actor had a tough guy face and was in a lot of things but I cannot find him on the web anywhere. Kind of tight brown waved receding hair. D. Marie Klein (Mar. 2022) Looking for this movie as well. My memory is hazy - but I think I recall that the wife believes her husband has the "mark of the devil". I also thought she had a baby in the 0ark with her. Have you recalled the name or found out what it was? D. Marie Klein (Mar. 2022) Just found it by piecing your memory and my scant recollection: It is CROWHAVEN FARM a 1970 TV movie, starring Hope Lange . The actor you were trying to recall was William Smith. He passed in July 2021 and was, perhaps, most famous for his villain portrayal of Falconetti in "Rich Man, Poor Man". Louisa LoCascio (May 2022) Movie is called Crowhaven Farm and can be viewed on Youtube ----- L P (Dec. 2021) Looking for a TV suspense movie from the late 60s or early 70's. All I can remember is that in the ending a woman was somewhere at night near a phone booth in an empty parking lot. Someone is chasing her and she is trying to call for help. I believe the last scene implies that she didn't get away. Just curious if anyone remembers this one. Thank you. ----- Rick Mosebay (Nov. 2021) Although my recollection of the narrative is hazy at best, the main protagonist is a poor young boy who lives in the city (New York/Boston?) with his family, trying to cope with his unhappy childhood. His father is mentally (and physically?) abusive towards him and he is constantly bullied by kids in the neighborhood. The two scenes I vividly remember happen towards the end of the movie: (1) At his home, the boy's "friend" steals some of his baseball cards and (2) after having an abusive altercation with his father, the boy runs out of the house, into the street and is run over and killed by a passing automobile. Watching this sad story unfold as a young child, it had such a profound effect on my psyche at the time. I will always remember those emotions felt following the end credits roll. IIRC, this TV movie was broadcast in the late summer, sometime in the mid-70s (guesstimating between 1973-1975). Melissa Amour (Jun. 2022) I remember that movie too! And I've been trying to figure out what it is for years now, with no success. As you said, it had a huge impact on me as well, which I guess is why I recall those final scenes so vividly. If you ever solve this minor mystery, I'd love to know the movie title. - Melissa Amour - Kid Riki (Mar. 2023)
Hi Melissa! After many years of searching, I finally found the title to this movie. "Daddy, I Don't Like It Like This" was broadcast back in July 1978 on CBS (I was a few years off the mark here) with Doug McKeon as Peter Agnelli, a shy and sensitive boy living in an abusive environment. Burt Young and Talia Shire (of Rocky fame) play his insufferable parents, Rocco and Carol Agnelli. The movie has been uploaded and is available for viewing on Youtube.
Cheyenna Skelton (Apr. 2023)
I finally figured this out. I've been searching for the name of this movie for years too with no luck, but I was reading through all the synopsis in the database and came across "Daddy, I Don't Like It Like This", a CBS tv movie from 1978. I remembered the dad wearing boxing gloves, the little boy having light blonde hair and blue eyes. I remembered feeling more disturbed by it because when I was little I thought the boy looked so much like my brother. I seemed to recall that the father bullied the little boy a lot and wanted him to be tough, and of course I remembered the tragic ending. I watched this by myself as a child in a hotel room (always had insomnia) while my family was asleep sometime in the 80s, and I never forgot about the story, but I never knew the name of it until now. Unfortunately I can't find it anywhere to watch or buy.

Robert Byers (Oct. 2021)
I am seeking the name of a made-for-TV 70s movie (airplane crash, teen-age daughter).
I distinctly recall a (possibly made-for-TV) movie having a scene in which a very proud teen-aged daughter of a man who often piloted a small aircraft was admiringly watching her father's airplane only to witness moments later the plane go out of control and crash. For some reason, I seem to recall the Nilsson song "Without You" playing either while the plane was going down, or immediately after it crashed.
I always thought the daughter might have been Lisa Gerritsen ("My World and Welcome To It"), but her filmography does not include a movie that fits my description.

I have been looking for this movie a long time. It was a made for TV movie (possibly LMN) about a woman who leaves her husband and kidnaps her young daughter and goes on the run for years with her. It takes place in the south. The woman cons and writes bad checks to survive and intermittantly actually works, but is eventually caught up with. Her daughter is sent back to her Grandma's house. Several years go by, the daughter is now grown and her Mom has been in prison but is finally released. She also has a terminal illness. In the end, Mom/Daughter have a good relationship. The title was like a children's poem. I think it was made in the late 70s. Mom was a blond, daugther was played by a famous child actress. I would love to see the movie again.

Hello, I am trying to find a 'Made for TV' film about a U.S. Ship that transported a number of WW2 refugees from possibly Portugal? I think is was primarily Jewish refugees. I remember a plot point being the birth on board causing trouble with 'allowed number of people, but by some chance an older person died, so the numbers would match. Does anyone know the name of this film and any other information about it? TYIA

not sure if its a late 70's or 80's movie. but it was about 2 sisters who had to move with their drunk aunt after tragic accident with parents. They were poor one of the sisters would make her own clothes while the other one was simple didn't really care about her appearance but she liked to collect it was either glass bottles or tin cans cant really remember. Have been trying to find the name of this movie for years.

Mid-to-late 70s ('77-ish) made for tv, or B-movie. Couple moves to new location with contemporary decor. Executive and neglectful husband goes to work. Pretty and lonely wife meets elegant ghost and gets romantically involved. It's right here.... in the middle of my brain, but I can't pick it out. For some reason, I believe Mom wouldn't have wanted me to watch it.... she didn't like supernatural movies... so I must have been about 17, but I know it was on tv and couldn't be too erotic or violent.

It may be "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" ? Hope this helps.....

There was a movie I saw as a kid in the late 70s/early 80s on one of those late night programs, perhaps during the La Bries late night shows. I remember there being this large manor, maybe some type of institute or a school, in the country with huge green lawns and trees - almost like an English countryside manor. There were a bunch of young 20-somethings and one of the girls was blind. I am not sure if any of the others were. She end up getting stalked by a man. For some reason she is alone in the place; I can't remember itf it was because the others had left or if they were also killed. It seems that it looked like the movie was a late 60s early 70s. Sorry I know not much to go on but it is just snippets of memory that have stuck with me since I was a little girl. Thanks!

I remember a "After School Special" type of show (but, I don't think it was an After School School). It was about a twelve year old boy. He hurt his leg while sliding into a base during a game of baseball. An x-ray showed it was bone cancer. At first, the doctor thought he could just remove and replace that section of bone and save the leg. Later, he determined it would cause nerve damage and that he will have to remove the leg (I thought as a kid, so what if you have a limp!). He had to come to terms with losing the leg.

Looking for a 70s movie that used to show on TV late at night in the 90s. It involved two very young people (young teens?) who fall in love and run off to try to be together, but can barely take care of themselves. It showed late at night on TV, and it was on the video shelf at my local video store. I don't remember what movie it was.

Looking for 60s era movie where a man in a taxi (england)? keeps coming up short to pay for his ride. Taxi driver goes all over with him so he can borrow money. Once or twice he almost makes it but the meter clicks over.
Also looking for a 70s era movie or anthology episode where two male castaways find beautiful young woman castaway. One guy kills the other over the girl. The girl later dies. When the sole survivor is rescued the rescuers exhume the bodies. The girl's grave is empty. She did not exist.

Found this and I'm going to give it a shot. I've had trouble finding a couple movies from the 70's. The first is a movie about a couple young guys in a hot rod that travel the roads looking for drag races from unsuspecting locals. They have a prototype intake manifold on their motor that they keep hidden. During the movie they run from the law and angry folks they cheated out of money. The other movie is a version of Robin Hood that had Robin join forces with the bandits in the forest to fight against the sheriff's men. Not an unusual plot but during the meeting of Robin and Lil John, Robin discovers that the staff's the men use are loaded with metal inside of the staff to re-enforce it's strength. That particular detail doesn't interest me much, but I'm using that as something that separates the movie from the other versions of Robin Hood.

The first movie might be Two Lane Blacktop (1971).

I'm looking for a tv movie in the 70's or 80's about a black man and a white man. They were friends in the rural south. The black boy ran away after an incident that he thought he would be blamed for. He returned many years later as a sheriff, but never let on as to who he really was. Only an old aunt that lived in the black rural area of town knew who he was. His friend did not recognize him, but felt a sense of familiarity. As sheriff he had many racial problems, especially from a town bully named Foxy. Eventually, everything was cleared up and the sheriff let it be known who he was. As kids the white boy had a horse and before the black kid ran away he told his friend "you must fed him a carrot everyday" At the end he repeated the sentence while giving the horse a carrot, letting his idenity be known. His friend recognized him, they laughed and embraced.

Some motorcyclists find them, beat the boy and she escapes, meets a woman in a cabin and she goes with the police. I do not remember the end very well, but it is not happy, I think it is from the end of the 70's early 80's, and I am sure that the title of the movie is the name of the girl, but I do not remember it. If you could help me it would be great. Thank you

I'm looking for the names of a few TV movies from the '70s:
"Movie about a bar where married women go to have affairs. It breaks down into individual stories about the lives of the women
"Movie about a father in a New York City Italian neighborhood who becomes a vigilante, going after drug dealers. He goes to the mafia for help, fights a fast food restaurant owner who tries to stick his head in a vat of hot french fry oil, and finally blows up two dealers by dropping a bomb into their convertible from a rooftop while they're sitting in it
"Movie about a suburban family where the father gets addicted to cocaine.
I've been asking people about these movies for years... any help is much appreciated!

A movie I saw on TV in the mid to late 70's had a woman who was kidnapped and held hostage in a van with a bomb on it with a timer set to explode. I kind of remember the van being parked in a parking lot outside a baseball stadium (maybe?). Anyway, I think the guys that were holding her hostage changed their mind and were trying to rush back to get her out of the van before it exploded but they were too late and I think it exploded anyway. Sorry that's all I remember but it's driving me crazy trying to figure out what movie it was?! Thanks for any help!

Might be "Murder at the World Series", 1977, with the Houston Astros. The hostages in the van were wives of real-life MLB players; they escape before the explosion, but the bad guys don't know that. I'm pretty sure this was shot at the Houston Astrodome, using real Astros players, ~1983-'86.

Great work, SuperSeventies!!! Most of them, I watched on open TV during those great times, when it was everything we had, especially during the 70's. VHS Recorders were released here, in Brazil, only in 1982, by Sharp, and, in that specific year, it used to cost a lot of money, difficult to buy for middle class famlilies, such as mine. The first one I bought, got me so excited, that I had, during a time, more than 20 videoclub membership cards. Says, let's pretend we are in a lifeboat-and have to choose which people to remove from the boat-those that are rejected have to leave the room. So they go around with the game and the people who have to leave are very upset about it. At the end, the old guy and two young people are left in the room. It ends with some kind of boat competition and when the teacher/father knocks the child into the water and into the path of a speeding boat, the teen jumps in to save her. The teacher/father jumps in to save the teen/daughter and is killed. I think it was based on a book. Does it ring a bell?

In the late 1970s while still a young boy growing up in Australia, I recall seeing a tiny part of what was either an American movie, Telemovie or even just a American TV show on the TV. What caught my attention was a scene in which a young women or teenage girl was having a party at her house to presumably celebrate her birthday. During proceedings a bunch of thugs crash the party and assault the young lady. One of the thugs said "SO THIS IS THE PARTY GIRL AH" and then proceeded to rip the dress she was wearing. Just as things were getting hot an old man (possibly her father or grandfather) comes down stairs with a shotgun and threatened the thugs until they left. Unfortunately, not long after that my mother turned the TV off and I never ever saw anymore of it. I think the scene was probably too strong or explicit to have been in any U.S soap Opera at the time, so I can hopefully discount it from being in an old soap episode that will never be seen again. But for too many years now I've wondered what that TV show/Movie was. Does it at all sound familiar to anyone and do they know what this 1970 s show/movie it could have been?

In the morning she woke up and shook her husband to awake him and his head rolled off onto the floor.
There were a lot of "crazy" movies on at the drive-in during the 70s

In the late seventies or early eighties, I saw a TV movie about 1950's gang warfare in NY (not West Side Story). The dance scenes were incredible. Ring any bells? There were several references to Sugar Ray Robinson as a hero to the young toughs.

I've been trying to find a movie that I saw in the early 70s that I believe was a made for TV movie. It was about a ski resort full of socialites who get trapped in a storm. A bus or transport of prisoners get stranded there too, and a little girl disappears into the snow. I don't recall any of the stars, but I'd love to know the name so I can look it up.

Does anyone remember the Movie (or possibly short) that came out Early 70's about a man stuck in a Telephone box and try as they might, nobody can get him out?. At first it plays like a comedy as various passer by, including Big muscle bound types try and fail to break him Free. Eventually An open back truck turns up and the man is loaded onto the back by Two Men who drive through the City with this poor Fella on view in the Glass box for all to see and laugh at. The Truck heads out of the City into the country only to eventually end up at the door to a Huge warehouse. The Doors slide open. The Truck drives in and then We and He are Met with the horror of what awaits him. Contrary to Him being there to be broken out, He is there to Die. Placed on the floor beside a collection on Similar Phone boxes, all filled with poor souls in Various stages of Dying. Some have Strangled themselves with the phone cord while other are close to death. It ends With the mans look of horror as He hammers on the Glass. Watching this at the age of Twelve, Scared The Living Hell out of Me. Anyone any idea What The Hell! i'm on about?.

The Spanish short "La Cabina" from 1972. Plays out just like you described. Probably difficult for you since it's a foreign 25-minute piece!
superseventies (Moderator) (2015)
I don't remember seeing it but it sounds really cool. Could have been the inspiration for Phone Booth (2003) with Colin Farrell.
Michael (2015)
That's a Good point.I hadn't thought of that.I remember the whole thing being practically silent, that is of course except the sounds of traffic and laughing, but nobody spoke. It really sent You down the wrong path with making you think it was going to be some Whacky Comedy type thing and then BLAM!!!!! Hit You at the end with that Horrible image.
Then again, wasn't Phone Booth Scripted By Larry Cohen? The Master Of 70's Grindhouse! The Stuff (not A good example that was 80's) But The "Its Alive" Trilogy and numerous Blacksploitation Flicks?. Didn't He also do the Return to Salem's Lot TV Movie? Or am I wrong about that being for TV?.

There is a early 1970's TV movie (not Twisted Nerve) about a woman who is held hostage in her own house and tries to escape when her date suddenly relapses into a violent metal illness and refuses to let her go. The cops are called midway thru the movie and there is a standoff. Very creepy. What was the name of it?

When I was a kid around 1970's I was watching a movie but I do not remember the title. It is a family movie about a boy was born with a lack of immunity system and he must live in a sterile room/chamber. Finally, he tried to escape from its room and try to go home although he does not know where his house is. Finally he reached his parents' house but he is dying because of no immune defense system and he died and hug by both his daddy and mom in their arms. I tried to find out this movie but what I got is only "THE BOY IN THE PLASTIC BUBBLE". This is not the movie that I am looking for because the boy lived and died in his age perhaps around 5-7 years old. He is not as big as John Travolta who is playing in "THE BOY IN THE PLASTIC BUBBLE", he is just a little boy when he died. I always think about this movie and hard to forget it. Do you mind to help me; do you know about this movie? If you know could you tell me the title of this movie, please? Thank you so much. - Roy -

Looking for a mid to late 70's movie about ufo's. The opening scene had a flat saucer (humped up in the middle like Hoss Cartwright's hat) flying over the ocean, then diving into it towards an underwater pyramid I think. There is a rogue alien they have to find, and they enlist the help of some genius scientist and another man. As the saucer flies out of the solar system, the scientist watches the planets come up and the aliens tap into his brain to gather info on each planet, like mass, so they can properly use each planet's gravity to hurl them out of the solar system to catch the bad alien. I saw it as a teenager, and the name has eluded me ever since.

I am looking for a movie or mini-series from the 1970's that I think was part of the Sunday Night Movie type thing, but not positive. It was based on a true story about two sisters kidnapped from a Texas farm by Comanches. The sisters were rescued eventually, but one sister was traumatized and didn't do well. The other sister actually missed her Comanche family and no longer fit in with her White family. She returned to the tribe and lived with them and raised children staying with her husband until the Comanches were decimated by soldiers.

My grandpa is telling me about a movie he saw because he couldn't get into animal house when it was in the theaters. So he saw a movie instead where it's a teacher and there are a lot of flashbacks of her life and she's a prostitute, he's not sure if it's while she's a teacher still. The title is more than one word. He's even calling the friends he saw it with 40 years ago to try and figure it out and they don't remember the name either. Anyone know what this could be? He said it's the only movie he ever walked out on also (lol)

I'm looking for a 70's movie or TV show about a group of people who are either in a commune or group therapy out in the country who get preyed on by werewolves. (All I really recall is an ethnically mixed group lounging around on a treehouse platform talking?) The group gets picked off one by one. The leader/psychologist falls for a young woman from a neighboring farm and at the end of the movie she asks him to read bible verses over the graves at the back of her family's home. She tells him that no matter what he hears, he mustn't stop reading and he mustn't turn around. Cue growling and howling as he reads in broad daylight. After he finishes, he turns and the family and their farmhouse is gone. The final scene as I recall it is him standing there shouting, "Where is the house?!?" Anyone else remember this?

I'm looking for a 70's movie I saw when I was very young and don't remember the plot very well, but I believe it was about a man who was born with problems and spent all his life in coma in a hospital. One day the doctors manage to wake him up and he has to learn everything like a baby, only he's a grown up man. He escapes the hospital and a woman has to go after him. I'm not sure this is the right plot, but I clearly remember a scene where he was in a train and sees a woman with an apple, and he behaves like a child saying "apple", scaring the woman.
