Photoshop Training Photoshop Training Videos Why you need Photoshop training -- no matter what There is only one word to describe Adobe Photoshop-amazing. That is exactly the word I used the first time I saw graphic artists use Photoshop to edit and composite digital images for a feature-length animated film in 1995. I said it was amazing then, and it's even more amazing today. If you're a student with a few elective credit hours to fill, enroll in Photoshop training at your school as soon as you can. It doesn't matter if you're not planning to pursue a career as a graphic designer. All professionals today, no matter what field they specialize in, can add tremendous power and value to their work by learning the fundamentals of image editing and compositing with Adobe Photoshop software. You may be thinking to yourself, "I want to be a dentist-why should I go to the trouble of taking a Photoshop training course?" I'll tell you why: Do an Internet search for "Photoshop" + "dentists." That's what I just did and I got over 100,000 hits telling me why dentists love Photoshop. No matter what field you're working in or what career path you plan to pursue, there is a very high probability that Photoshop training will help you rise to the top of your profession in a way that no other software application can. I encourage you to do an Internet search for your specific career field, hobby, or area of interest. Are you an aspiring archaeologist? Thirty-five thousand hits. One site I visited is dedicated to assisting archaeologists in Central America and Mexico. They ask visitors to participate by donating computer equipment, software, cameras, and books on Meso-American archaeology. What software can they use? "Major software," they say, "especially Adobe Photoshop." I don't mean to belabor the point, but this is turning out to be fun. Let me challenge you just one last time. Think of the least plausible connection that comes to mind. What profession would you not expect to find many hits for if you typed it next to "Photoshop" in a search engine? Think of one profession on the planet in which practitioners have no practical application for Photoshop software. No need for Photoshop training. No reason to sign up for Photoshop training. I'm waiting for your answer... still waiting. Could the answer be "hairdresser"? Not by a long shot-34,000 hits. I clicked on one of them. It turned out to be a customer review of Photoshop 6 written by a hairdresser in San Francisco. The hairdresser wrote that she was "thrilled with Photoshop 6." And although I didn't read far enough into the article to find out how she uses Photoshop in her particular profession, it doesn't matter very much for my present purposes. There has never been a better time to sign up for Photoshop training There has never been a better time to sign up for an online Photoshop training course. If you haven't already heard, there's exciting news from Adobe for Photoshop novices around the world-CEO Bruce Chizen has announced that Adobe is planning to put a free version of Photoshop on the Internet before the end of 2007. Adobe has said that this will not be the professional version of Photoshop. The online edition of Photoshop will be targeted to the huge market of people using file sharing and social networking sites like MySpace and YouTube. Video is moving online faster than anyone expected. Internet TV channels are already a reality, and the success of YouTube is unprecedented in the history of the Worldwide Web. The announcement from Adobe is exciting news for online photographers, videographers, and hobbyists around the world-the world's No. 1 imaging technology is moving online, and it will be free to use. Adobe has read the writing on the wall: Internet users want to get more out of their online photos and videos, and they want it for free. Adobe thinks the best solution is a consumer-level edition of Photoshop for the Internet, and Chizen has said that consumers can expect the free hosted version of Photoshop in 2007. The online Photoshop edition will be provided as an entry-level version of Adobe's line of professional software solutions. Adobe's business model for the new hosted version of Photoshop envisions revenue from Internet advertising. Industry analysts see this as a strategy to head off competition from Google. "It's something we are sensitive to because we are watching folks like Google do it in different categories," Chizen said, "and we want to make sure that we are there before they are." What this means in a nutshell is that new Photoshop users will have the opportunity to start learning the skills that professional photographers and graphic designers use to create stunning images and visual effects. Entry-level users of the hosted Photoshop version will be able to enhance their online experience by using the world's No. 1 software for digital imaging. If you have ever worked with Photoshop, you know how exciting it is to find out how much Photoshop can do. Photoshop training can help you achieve your full potential, whether you use Photoshop on the job or just to get the most out of your photos and videos on your personal web site. Whether you're a true beginner or an experienced Photoshop user, there's a Photoshop training course that's right for you. If you're a novice just getting started with Photoshop, sign up for an introductory level Photoshop training course to learn how to get the most out of your photos and online graphics. An introductory course will also show you how to use Photoshop to get the most out of your web site. No matter what hobby or area you're interested in, there's a Photoshop training course to help you achieve a richer and more rewarding online experience. Why I love online Photoshop training Let's be honest: You're not going to learn Photoshop by playing around with it on your own for a couple of days-or years. Photoshop is known as a deep program: You can do so many things with Photoshop that your knowledge and skills can be channeled into a career. Photoshop is a challenging program-unless you take advantage of Photoshop training, you'll never be able to reach your full potential as a Photoshop user. If you become serious about using Photoshop as a tool for advancing your career, then you will go on learning how to do new things with Photoshop as long as Photoshop software is on the market. But the great thing about Photoshop training is that it can get you started in just a couple of hours. One of the first things that Photoshop training can teach you is how to edit photos and upload them to a web site. Most of us have had our share of users' manuals and how-to books. They usually pack much more information than we need in the beginning, and often their sheer volume is discouraging. How will I ever get through all that? It takes the joy and spontaneity out of the learning process in a hurry. Online tutorials and Photoshop training courses are a much more effective medium for learning the techniques and skills you need in order to get the most our of your Photoshop software. The wonderful thing about online training is that videos show you how to do everything step by step, click by click. It's much easier to follow and grasp an instructor who is talking to us in a normal conversational tone than it is to follow instruction manuals that are often boring and hard to follow. Even Photoshop training based on message boards and question and answer threads is a huge improvement over traditional text books and manuals. Text books and manuals are most effective when used as reference books. When I run into a specific problem, the manual can help me troubleshoot and fix the problem in a hurry, simply because it covers so much in one place. But when it comes to a task like getting started with Photoshop, I always learn faster and stay more motivated by breaking down the learning process into manageable segments. This is what good online Photoshop training does best-it takes you one step at a time, focusing on one skill until you've got it down before moving onto the next skill. It has never been easier to learn Photoshop. When I first started playing around with Photoshop over ten years ago, I was frequently discouraged when I didn't know how to do things. If online Photoshop training had been available at that time, I'm sure I would be a much more advanced Photoshop user today. Sign up for a Photoshop training course today and discover how the world's No. 1 digital editing and compositing software can help you achieve your full potential. Find the Photoshop training that's right for you With so many new software programs available every day, knowing which product is the right one can be quite a task. I have a feeling that many people steer away from learning how to use new software because the whole selection process can be so intimidating. If you're new to the wonderful world of digital editing and compositing, you need look no further: Photoshop is the industry leader, no matter what your specific field of interest might be. Photoshop is the software of choice for professional designers, as well as for amateur photographers and You Tubers. One of the nicest things about Photoshop is that the user interface has changed little over the years, which makes it easy to upgrade from earlier versions. If you have learned how to use a version like Photoshop 6, check out the upgrades available for Photoshop CS2. Then sign up for advanced Photoshop training to see how CS2 can help you reach your full potential. If you're a novice photographer or just starting to experiment with online video and digital imaging, a good place to start is Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3. Photographers and graphic designers around the world have shown what's possible with Photoshop-anything is possible. Photoshop is so flexible that professionals are continually discovering applications for the software that the developers at Adobe never imagined. Photoshop is so versatile and customizable that whatever field you work in, Photoshop training is one of the surest ways to achieve your full potential. If you want to see how Photoshop training makes dreams come true, check out what film studios are doing with Adobe Photoshop software. Do an Internet search for "Photoshop" + film industry. I got almost three million hits for my Yahoo search. I clicked on the No. 1 entry. It was a current Craigslist ad posted by a Hollywood studio for a Photographer's Assistant / Photoshop assistant. The studio needs an individual to photograph "tens of thousands" of movie props and prepare photos for the studio's web site. Skills and requirements: "must have" knowledge of digital equipment and experience preparing images for the Internet with Photoshop. The studio is looking for a self-starter, a good team player who knows how to follow directions. The candidate must be able to follow through on a long-term project without supervision when the chief photographer is absent. Full-time job with excellent pay and benefits. Photoshop has practical applications for professionals in every career field and every area of interest imaginable. A movie project is where you can best see the full flexibility and power of Photoshop. Remember that film is just "moving pictures"-one photographic image projected after another onto a screen at a speed of 24 frames per second. Each individual frame is a photographic composition in itself. Even to the untrained viewer, the visual effect of a painting or photographic image depends in large part on composition-the way the artist has captured and "composed" all the elements in the field. An image is attractive when the creator has skillfully combined elements into a pleasing whole. And when something seems to be wrong with a photograph or with a scene in a movie, what's wrong can often be traced to an error in composition. One of the great things about Photoshop training is that it teaches you the fundamentals of composition and color-skills that will make you better at whatever you do on the Internet. There's a level of Photoshop training that's right for every user, from first-time user to experienced professional. If you've never used Photoshop, sign up for Photoshop training today and discover how the world's No. 1 digital editing and compositing software can help you take your career to the next level. If you're already using Photoshop, find out how advanced training can teach you the skills and tricks that professionals use to create stunning images and visual effects. Photoshop training is one of the best investments you'll ever make in your career. It can even help you get your first job with a Hollywood studio. How Photoshop training can change the way you see the world The first time I got a taste of Photoshop training, I was producing an animated film for an independent production studio in Merida, Mexico. That was in 1995. We were using Adobe Photoshop 3.0 on Mac computers-state of the art. I was amazed by what graphic designers and digital editors were doing with Photoshop 3. Working with those people changed the way I saw the world. I'm not a graphic designer or a visual effects editor. I was in awe of what Photoshop artists were doing with Photoshop 3.0 back in 1995, and I'm equally in awe of what artists are doing today with Photoshop CS2. I was not a visually oriented person when I saw Photoshop in use the first time. I thought I was, but I wasn't-not when I compared myself to the people who were doing such amazing things with Photoshop. I was managing, organizing, planning, attacking logistical problems, taking care of the business end, writing and editing a lot of text in English and Spanish. We were working long days and at times longer nights. I was inspired by what the Photoshop editors were doing. We were using Adobe Photoshop to color and composite animation frames, as Disney did in its animated version of Beauty and the Beast two years earlier. I sat next to the Photoshop artists whenever I had a chance. Watching them at work gave me a much deeper understanding of how to use color and how to balance elements in a composition. This inspired me to become bolder and more artistic in my use of graphic images to add value to my text jobs and presentations. I wasn't doing them with Photoshop, but I was getting more out of all my familiar programs by what I had learned about design, color, and composition from the Photoshop artists I had been working with. Watching Photoshop artists and digital editors changed the way I saw the world; I was becoming a more visually oriented person. And it seeped into everything I did-even the way I laid out text on a page. I developed a much keener sense of how to compose text as I became more aware of the elements of graphic composition. One area made me stronger in the other. Whether you're a novice or an experienced Photoshop user, there's a level of Photoshop training that's right for you. If you're just getting started, an introductory Photoshop training course will give you the fundamental skills you need to get the most out of your photos and videos. I may never master Photoshop the way those graphic artists and digital editors had mastered Photoshop 3 back in 1995. When you sign up for Photoshop training today, you'll be on your way to mastering Photoshop CS2. Even if you're still a novice like me, Photoshop training will add tremendous value to your life-it might even change the way you see the world. What's new in Photoshop training No matter what field you work in, Photoshop training can help you reach your full potential. If you learned how to get around in an earlier version of Photoshop, it's time you found out what you've been missing. Photoshop CS2 has powerful new features like Font Review, which allows users to see type fonts next to their names in the font menu. This is one of the innovations that Photoshop lovers will be happy to find in Photoshop CS2, and there are many more new features to get excited about. Here's a brief list of the most important new features that you'll learn all about in your Photoshop training course: Adobe Bridge: If you're familiar with older versions of Photoshop, the first thing you'll notice about Photoshop CS2 is the totally remodeled file browser, which is now called Adobe Bridge. Bridge is a stand-alone program, which means that it works for all Adobe applications-you can use it whether you're in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or Acrobat. This is the control center that lets you navigate to your project files and applications. Adobe Bridge places Adobe stock photos within easy reach no matter what you're working on, and it also makes file organization and sharing a lot easier. The overall impact of Adobe Bridge is to make you are a more efficient project manager by helping you stay on top of all your projects. Customizable Interface: The Adobe Photoshop CS2 interface lets you control desktop clutter better than ever. The new interface lets you show, hide, or color-code any item on the menu to clean up your interface. New Layers Palette: Photoshop CS2 has a new shortcut to select multiple layers. Enhanced Information Palette: The palette now has much more information, more settings, and new tips. New blur filters: Photoshop CS2 has surface, box, and shape blurs. Vanishing Point: Photoshop CS2 has a powerful filter that lets users remove or add objects while keeping the design in perfect perspective. With Vanishing Point, users can paint, clone, and paste objects that automatically fall into perfect perspective with all surrounding elements. Red Eye Tool: You can remove red eyes in your digital images by simply clicking on this tool. Reduce Noise Filter: This new filter lets you remove noise from photographs to polish your photos like never before. Smart Objects: This is a completely new type of layer that lets you modify objects in Photoshop CS2 without running the risk of destroying your files. Image Warping: CS2 is the first version of Photoshop that lets you warp images-in previous versions, it was only possible to warp type. Now it's possible to warp any selection, layer, or object. Image-Ready Integration: Photoshop CS2 comes with its own animation palette. It's now possible to create Internet-ready animations in Photoshop CS2. Font Menu: Photoshop users were happy to hear about this innovation, which lets you see a type font displayed next to its name in the font menu. And if you want to be a visual effects artist for film and television, mastering Photoshop is the best way to get your first job in the industry. Learning how to use Photoshop can be a frustrating ordeal if you try to do it alone. Most novices have similar experiences the first time they use Photoshop. We have all seen at least one person create startling graphic images and effects by clicking on this and that, without going to any apparent effort. Then we try our hand with an airbrush for the first time and all we want to do is cry when we start running into problems. If we insist on doing it ourselves, we will be in for a hard time of it. By the time you open up the manual, you already feel like giving up. This sums up my first solo experience with Photoshop. And I wasn't trying to create Jurassic Park-like visual effects-all I had to do was select an object and paint it. I gave up, too frustrated to try again for a long time. I wish online Photoshop training had been available then. Rise to the top of your profession with Photoshop training Many people let an unhappy first experience with Photoshop keep them from achieving their full potential. Don't try to learn Photoshop on your own-you'll miss out on the power of Photoshop by never learning to use its full capabilities. The first time I tried to do a simple job with Adobe Photoshop, I was in for a shock. I had watched Photoshop artists and digital editors create stunning images and visual effects almost effortlessly-or so it seemed to me. One of them invited me to try my hand with a simple Photoshop job. My assignment was to select an object and paint it. What could be simpler? An hour later, I was ready to give up. I was so frustrated that I thought it must have been simpler to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel than to do what I was trying to do without Photoshop training. The first time I tried to complete a simple job on Photoshop, I did everything wrong. When I was left to do it on my own, I found myself in deep water and I sank quickly. The people peering over my shoulder as they walked by didn't help. That's one of the tremendous benefits of online Photoshop training-no one is there peering over your shoulder all the time, unless you want someone to be there. One of the things I like most about Photoshop training is the way it triggers my creativity. When I learn new ways to do things with Photoshop, I start making new connections and discoveries in every area of my life. If you've been using Photoshop for a few years, an advanced Photoshop training course will teach you all the tricks and secrets you haven't figured out by yourself. How Photoshop training stretches creativity For creative professionals, Photoshop training never ends: Martin Scorsese's film biography of Howard Hughes, The Aviator, used over 400 shots created with Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop CS. The man behind the effects was Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor Rob Legato, previously known for his work in Titanic and Apollo 13. Although some of the visual effects in The Aviator have changed very little since Hughes himself used them to film Hell's Angels, the majority of effects for The Aviator were created by Legato and a team of artists using high-end computer graphics tools like Adobe Photoshop on Mac and PC-based systems. "What's revolutionary is that one person can do all these things," says Legato. On-the-job "Photoshop training" produced spectacular results in The Aviator. Desktop systems allowed artists like Legato to stretch their creativity to limits they would not have dreamed of only a few years ago. High-end software programs like Adobe Photoshop are changing the way films are made. Traditionally, visual effects artists have not worked on a film shoot as part of the main unit; the main unit shoots a scene, leaving a space for the effects. Instead of relying on an expensive special effects studio-and working as part of the main unit-Legato was able to do the effects himself on a desktop system. Director Scorsese was able to give his feedback right away, and Legato could quickly make any required modifications. By using Adobe After Effects, Legato could show Scorsese what a scene would look like before it was filmed. This allowed the visual effects team to produce what is essentially an animated storyboard; the director could visualize a scene before shooting it-and before committing studio resources and live actors to film it. Photoshop's color-timing techniques allowed visual effects artists to achieve remarkable on-screen results in The Aviator. Scorsese wanted colors in The Aviator to reflect the look of movies from the periods portrayed in the film. For action set in the 1920s and 1930s, Scorsese used Photoshop to create the visual texture of Technicolor's two-color technique. For the period after 1937, Scorsese used Photoshop to create Technicolor's three-color transfer system. Legato was able to emulate Technicolor processes from early periods by scanning black and white still photos, and using Photoshop CS to overlay magenta, yellow, and cyan filters on the stills. This is the most amazing thing about Photoshop-it is so powerful, and it can do so much, that even the people at Adobe are often surprised by the new applications that users in cutting-edge industries find for the software. As Legato points out, "The software can be used in ways never imagined by the people who invented it." Martin Scorsese has never been known as an artistic director, and much less as an innovator in the field of visual effects. But as Legato says, Scorsese got on-the-job Photoshop training: "Pretty soon, he was asking us to change the color of a dress here or to remove a shadow there." Get serious about Photoshop training Jumping into Photoshop without Photoshop training can be a frustrating experience. I had my first "hands-on" experience with Photoshop in 1995. It was one of the most rewarding and frustrating experiences in my life. I was producing a feature-length animated film for our independent start-up company in Merida, Mexico. We were developing this project with amazing talent-that was the rewarding part of the experience. I had never been part of a project that relied on digital editing and compositing. Some of the people I worked with and got to know at that time were major talents in the world of high-end digital solutions-people who had risen to top positions at Apple Computer and Silicon Graphics. And then there were the whiz kids just out of college who could do anything you could imagine on a Macintosh computer running Adobe Photoshop. Just watching them use Photoshop to color animation frames in a fraction of the time it would have taken to paint the frames by hand was a great learning experience for me. I had the opportunity to watch people with amazing talent do amazing things with Adobe Photoshop. But when I sat down and started playing around with Photoshop, trying to emulate the simplest effects I had seen others create so effortlessly, I quickly ran into trouble. I didn't take the time to seek out any sort of Photoshop training; I learned to get by with simpler design software. I did what I needed to do for my text presentations, but I gave up dreaming that I'd ever be able to do anything myself with Photoshop. Like many people, I decided that Photoshop was too deep for me-I wasn't a graphic designer or visual effects artist anyway, so I saw no need to sign up for Photoshop training. And like most people, I thought that Photoshop training was only for those who wanted to turn their Photoshop skills into a career path. I didn't have time for it, I didn't really need it, so I crossed "Photoshop training" off my wish list and went on to other things. That was a big mistake. Not long ago, I was forced to realize-after all these years-how badly I need to learn enough digital editing and compositing to create better graphics and videos for the Internet. Just a hobby to begin with-I told myself-but something that has been in the back of my mind ever since I crossed "Photoshop training" off of my wish list. I had mastered the simpler software and gotten as much out of it as I was going to get. There is only one program in the world that can let me do what I want to do with photos and video-Photoshop. It's time for me to get serious about Photoshop training. I hope you'll decide to get serious about Photoshop training, too. It's one of the best investments you can make-even if you only want to get the most out of your photos and Internet videos. How Photoshop training empowers people Everyone who works with images needs Photoshop training to get the most out of their photos and videos. If you're a photographer, designer, or you work with any type of images at all, it's time you found out how Photoshop training empowers both novices and professionals to achieve their full potential. I'm a dedicated lifelong learner, but one of the gaps in my learning over the past ten years is in Photoshop. I've made a commitment to sign up for Photoshop training to get the most out of my web site and online graphics work. I'm not a design professional, but I have an urgent need to know how to do more with my photos and videos on the Internet. I think that describes a lot of people today, no matter what field they work in. Sure, I could outsource the jobs-or choose not to do them at all. But here's the real reason why I'm sold on Photoshop: Photoshop training stretches my creativity. It adds value to every area of my professional and personal life by lighting the creative flame that burns inside me. Photoshop training is one of the most professionally and personally rewarding investments you can make in yourself. Read testimonials of people who have benefited from a Photoshop training course. When you do this, you'll understand what I'm talking about. You'll find testimonials from retired people who wanted a stimulating and challenging hobby to help them stay busy. I read a testimonial on one site from a retired man so excited about using his new Photoshop skills to restore photographs that he's planning to make a business out of it. Another man wrote that Photoshop training is increasing his skills so fast that he is already teaching new tricks to colleagues who are experienced Photoshop users. Satisfied user after satisfied user: They all have the experience, and all of them are glad they signed up for Photoshop training. One of the testimonials captured the experience of all frustrated Photoshop novices who wake up one day with the solution right in front of their eyes-a Photoshop training course on their computer screen. This satisfied Photoshop learner remarked about the training course: "Why can't I think of the solutions by myself?" That's the way it is with all great teaching-the answers seem so simple when someone is there to give them to us. Many Photoshop owners use the software for over a year without learning how to use most of the tools. As soon as they sign up for a Photoshop training course, they start seeing the difference in what they're able to do. And they suddenly appreciate the full power of the investment they made in the Photoshop software, too-when you start learning how to get the most out of Photoshop, it can be worth its weight in gold. But you'll never know until you sign up for Photoshop training. Many Photoshop users spend a long time trying to do things the hard way. Make a commitment today to invest time and money in a Photoshop training course and discover the simple solutions you haven't been able to think of by yourself. Photoshop training for the virtual classroom I love the way that people can connect over the Internet today. I have had many different types of learning experiences, from traditional classroom instruction to the newest elearning methods-and a taste of nearly everything in-between. I also have 15 years of experience teaching English as a foreign language in Mexico. And of all the teaching methods I have seen, I think that elearning holds the most potential as a system for Photoshop training. When I first started hearing about virtual classrooms, I didn't like the idea very much. In my mind I probably associated elearning with traditional distance learning programs like television and correspondence courses. I'm grateful that I've had the opportunity to find out how wrong I was. Most people react negatively to new ideas the first time they hear them. That seems to be a fairly universal product of our education and socialization. It's a wonderful thing when we are able to break down the barriers that cause us to resist new ideas. When I had my first opportunity to participate in elearning, I realized almost instantly that I had been very wrong in my opinions-it's easy to see why now. I didn't like traditional television courses because they were even less interactive than traditional classroom instruction-communication was one way, instructor to student, without any technology to allow students to ask the instructor questions during a class. And traditional correspondence courses were even more frustrating in the days when snail mail was the only mechanism to facilitate communication between instructors and students. The component that makes elearning so completely different from traditional distance learning systems is the interactivity that elearning not only allows, but encourages, empowers, and invites. Interactivity is the key element, the motor that drives the explosion in online training today. Students who are too timid to speak up in the traditional classroom environment now have in their hands a powerful tool for overcoming their shyness. Another thing I love about elearning is that you have more freedom to practice what you're learning. If you're taking a Photoshop training course, for instance, your practice field is right at home on your computer. As a teacher of English as a foreign language, I have always noticed that successful learners often learn as much from their classmates as they do from the teacher. I think that teachers in physical classrooms understand better today than ever before that connectedness in the classroom helps every student learn more. And now the Internet shows us how to take maximum advantage of the benefits of connecting to others-we can connect to anyone else in the world if the two of us have an Internet connection. I'm excited about how elearning is changing the way we learn. If you're an amateur photographer or videographer who wants to get more out of your photos and online videos, sign up for Photoshop training today and discover how elearning can help you be all that you can be. How to reach your potential with Photoshop training What does Photoshop mean to you? If you think Photoshop is just a tool for serious photographers and graphic designers, you'll be surprised to find out that professionals from dentists to archaeologists are using Photoshop CS2 to take their work to the next level. If you've never had to opportunity to see the full range of what Adobe Photoshop can do, or if you've only dabbled in Photoshop to crop and retouch your digital photos, you need to take a closer look at how Photoshop training can unleash the full power of your creativity. Photoshop is not a toy, even though I've seen young children learn how to do a lot of cool things with digital images by just playing around with Photoshop. And even if you're a total novice, dabbling in Photoshop can help you create better graphic images and improve the quality of your presentations. But to get the maximum benefits of Photoshop, you really need to sign up for Photoshop training. People who learn on their own sometimes discover the best way to do things, but usually they discover the wrong way to do things, which causes recurring frustration and limits their ability to go on learning new things. The time and money you invest today in your Photoshop training will reward you in ways that you can't even begin to imagine. If you try to learn Photoshop yourself, a trial and error method of learning will allow you to become pretty good at a few fundamental techniques. But you'll never begin to imagine the unlimited potential of Photoshop CS2 until you sign up for Photoshop training. If you deal with images or graphics of any type in your work or in your favorite hobby, Photoshop training can help you reach your full potential. You don't need to study Photoshop for years before you can start producing results that add value to your professional and personal projects. Photoshop training can take your job skills to the next level in just a few weeks. You may be wondering if Photoshop training is worth the time and effort. That's an important question to ask: You shouldn't sign up for Photoshop training unless you're willing to make a serious commitment to practice the techniques you learn. You'll only get out of your Photoshop training what you put into it. But the rewards are worth every minute and every dollar you invest. When you begin to master the Photoshop fundamentals, you'll soon have the confidence to take on new projects and editing jobs. I know from my own experience that no matter what you use Photoshop for, when you learn how to create and edit professional-quality digital images you feel a degree of professional and personal fulfillment that you have rarely felt before. Make a commitment to sign up for Photoshop training today and start putting the power of the world's leading digital imaging software to work for you. You'll be glad you did. How Photoshop training empowers Biblical scholars Biblical scholars at the University of Southern California have been putting their Photoshop training to a surprising use-Photoshop is helping them analyze the Dead Sea Scrolls. The director of USC's West Semitic Research Project (WSRP), Dr. Bruce Zuckerman, has said that Adobe Photoshop CS2 "is pivotal to our ability to unlock the history of the ancient past." This is not the first time that archaeologists have used their Photoshop training to combine fragments of ancient documents that are kept in museums and libraries in different parts of the world. Photoshop CS2 allows scholars and archaeologists to put these fragments together in the form of digital jigsaw puzzles, allowing researchers to study whole parchments or scrolls of papyrus for the first time. Some of the original inscriptions are too small to be seen at all. Using Photoshop CS2, archaeologists are able to build larger composite images out of the smaller original images. And much original writing is impossible to see today because the ink has faded or the material on which it is written has become too dark. By using ultraviolet and infrared imaging techniques, researchers are able to recover the ink traces and read the original document. As soon as Zuckerman's team has a good photo of an ancient document, they scan it and digitally enhance it with Photoshop CS2. Think of the unlimited possibilities; once the image is digitalized and enhanced, it can be freely distributed and shared online with researchers and scholars around the world. It's stunning to think what that means for the whole profession-there isn't an archaeologist or Biblical scholar in the world today who doesn't need advanced Photoshop training to reach their full potential. The West Semitic Research Project at USC has published online tutorials for using Photoshop CS2 as a tool for scholarly research. This is a fascinating web page that introduces scholars to all the Photoshop fundamentals: how to use tools, how to reduce and enlarge images on screen, how to draw inscriptions with paths, how to paint paths, how to copy paths, and how to copy drawings. Thanks to Adobe Photoshop CS2, archaeologists can now decipher documents that no one has been able to read for many hundreds of years. Even writings and inscriptions thought to have been deciphered and interpreted long ago are open for new investigation-scholars may start finding errors made in the original research by people working with hard-to-see inscriptions. It is breathtaking to think about what this means-a single letter can change the way we view history. When I first started playing around with Photoshop in the early 1990s, I never would have thought that I had a tool in my hands that might one day change the way people understand themselves. What an exciting time to be alive-and Photoshop training makes it even more exciting. Sign up for Photoshop training today. No matter what field you're in, Photoshop training is one of the best investments you'll ever make. What to look for in your first Photoshop training course If you've been dappling in Photoshop to see what it can do for your digital images, you've already had a glimpse of how Photoshop can add to the quality of your jobs, whether you need to improve the graphics for a major presentation or you just want to touch up some digital photos before emailing them to family and friends. If you've never taken a Photoshop training course, you've probably been wondering if you should. The short answer is: Yes, you should. You'll never regret the investment of time and money when you see how Photoshop training can take you to the next level. When you sharpen your Photoshop skills, you improve everything you do in your work and in your play. You learn how to add huge value to your web site designs, and how to give your presentations the quality of a professionally designed portfolio. It's easier than ever to learn advanced design techniques with Photoshop training. And the best part of it is: You'll have so much fun learning, you'll never want to stop. Here are some of the things you should look for in an introductory Photoshop training course: How to use the painting tools: You need to learn the different tools and techniques for painting your graphic images, as well as how to create patterns and how to use the pattern stamp tool. How to do basic color correction: Every introductory Photoshop training course should teach you basic color theory-how to use color creatively. You also need to learn about color gradients, how to correct colors, and how to hand-color graphics and images. How to work with type: A good introductory-level Photoshop training course will introduce you to type-the character and paragraph palettes, the Photoshop type tool, how to transform type, how to warp type, and how to create different type styles and effects. How to create photographic edges and buttons: You need to learn how to automate jobs through the use of actions, how to design creative buttons, how to create navigation bars, and how to finish your project. Before you begin your Photoshop training, you'll probably need to have a version of Adobe Photoshop CS2, CS, or 7.0. If you have a version lower than Photoshop 6.0, you may not receive a certificate when you complete the course. And you may not be able to complete your Photoshop training course if you have a demo version of Photoshop, Photoshop LE, or Photoshop Elements, because these programs have limits in their software features. Before you purchase Adobe Photoshop, always make sure that your computer meets the system requirements for working with your version of Photoshop. Most importantly, before you enroll in a Photoshop training course, be sure you're willing to make a serious commitment of time and energy. You'll only get out of your Photoshop training as much as you put into it, so be sure you have enough time to practice techniques and experiment with new tools. Sign up for advanced Photoshop training today I first used Adobe Photoshop over ten years ago. I saw what professional graphic designers were able to do with Photoshop and I was impressed. Although I'm not a graphic designer, I had always enjoyed playing around with simple image editing programs and I had learned to do just enough to add value to my text documents and presentations. I was doing all right, but at the same time I was harboring no illusions about the level of the graphic work I was producing-it wasn't anything even remotely close to what some of my friends and coworkers were creating with Photoshop. I had the opportunity back then to sign up for Photoshop training, but I didn't. That was a huge mistake. If I had gotten started with professional Photoshop training ten years ago, I know now that I would have been able to add tremendous value to all my professional jobs and personal hobbies. It's never too late. I've decided to get serious about Photoshop training. At this point I should be ready for advanced Photoshop training, but I'm not. I know that I've probably been doing lots of simple things the wrong way. That is what happens when you try to learn a deep program like Photoshop on your own. There's only so much you can figure out by trial and error. Inevitably the "shortcuts" you think you've discovered turn out to be expensive wastes of time and resources. As someone once said, "The longest distance between two points is a shortcut." If you've been working with an early version of Photoshop, check out an upgrade to Photoshop CS2 and find out how the new features can take your career to the next level. And if you learned how to use an earlier version of Photoshop, like Photoshop 6 or 7, here's what you can expect to find in an advanced Photoshop training course. * You'll become a true professional in your work with levels and curves, adjustment layers, and advanced color correction techniques. You'll learn how to polish difficult images like never before, and you'll master the most up-to-date restoration techniques. You'll learn the techniques and tricks that professional designers use for selection, masking, channels, and layers. You'll master the most advanced blending techniques and get the most out of your work with paths. * Advanced Photoshop training will help you get the most out of your web sites and online jobs. You'll learn how to use the most advanced special effects and how to create professional web interfaces. So make sure you learn the right "shortcuts"-learn Photoshop the right way by signing up for certified Photoshop training today. Whether you're a novice who needs to get started with an introductory level course or a professional who needs to sign up for advanced Photoshop CS2 training, make a commitment today to discover how Photoshop can help you achieve your full potential. You'll never regret it. And it's never too late. Why everyone needs Photoshop training Adobe Photoshop CS2 is the leading software in the world for digital image editing. If you're new to Photoshop, you'll be astonished at what a powerful tool it is. Professional photographers and graphic designers depend on Photoshop for creating the extraordinary results we have come to expect from modern digital imagining. One of the reasons that Photoshop has always been so popular is because its built-in adaptability allows professionals to customize Photoshop to work they way they want it to. Professionals know that ongoing Photoshop training is a key to their continuing success. And even photographers and graphic designers who have been working with Photoshop for ten or more years know that ongoing Photoshop training will allow them to reap the maximum benefits from this amazing tool. Almost all novice photographers and designers have dappled in Photoshop, trying to learn as much as they can intuitively, clicking on things to see what they do until they find the function they're looking for. And novices can quickly learn to do a lot of the basics by using this kind of "click and miss" method, because the Photoshop basics are easy to figure out. But there is just so much that Photoshop can do. Many novices learn to do a few basic operations and limit themselves to the skill level of a beginner. Without Photoshop training you simply can't hope to unleash the power of this software. Many novice users think they don't need a professional tool like Photoshop. But when novices sign up for Photoshop training they are invariably amazed at how much they're able to do, how quickly and easily they're able to learn new things, and how they're able to add value to their professional and personal projects. I think there is a little bit of the designer and photographer in all of us. When I first started playing around with Photoshop over 10 years ago, I thought it was something that only professionals needed to learn to use. But as I became more proficient with word processing and text editing, I wanted to learn how to improve my presentations. I was comfortable with Microsoft Office, so I naturally turned to Microsoft Publisher to handle my desktop publishing jobs. I quickly discovered that Publisher let me get simple jobs done in a hurry-it's a fine program as far as it goes. But when I compared what I was producing to what my friends were producing with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, I felt very dissatisfied. I wanted to learn to do what they were doing, even though I was never going to be a professional designer. I have never regretted the time, effort, and money I invested in learning Photoshop ten years ago. I didn't use Photoshop for the last six or seven years, and now I realize how much I've been missing. I've discovered that what was true then is even truer today-even if you're not a professional designer, Photoshop training can change the way you work and the way you live. It gives you the power to add tremendous value to all your jobs. How Photoshop training can help improve your photos If you want to learn how to get the most out of your photos, the right Photoshop training for you is Adobe Photoshop Elements 5. Photoshop Elements lets you easily correct flaws and adjust color and lighting in digital photos; arrange your photos in layouts that let you set up Internet photo galleries created with Flash technology; and view all your videos and stills in one place. At a price around U.S. $100, Photoshop Elements is a great place to start if you're interested in mastering the art of digital editing and compositing. If you enjoy playing around with video and photos on the Internet, Photoshop training can take your hobby to the level of professional excellence and quality. Online self-study courses with instructor-guided training are a tremendously effective and fun way to master Photoshop skills in a hurry. If you're just getting into photography or videography, Photoshop training is the most powerful path to career success and personal fulfillment. What Photoshop Elements 5 Training can do for you Adobe Photoshop Elements 5 provides the tools you need to correct, enhance, organize, and share your photographs. Photoshop Elements 5 training will introduce you to the interface or welcome screen, the browser that acts as the pathway into the whole package; the organizer, or file-management tool; and the editor, used to correct lighting, resize images, and remove red eye. Photoshop Elements 5 also lets you put together professional-quality slide shows and build digital scrapbooks. One of the biggest problems that novice photographers face is color correction. By using the Adjust Color Curves tool, it's easy to correct common color problems with Photoshop Elements 5. The amazing thing about Photoshop is how much it can do. I love to jump into a new program and feel my way around, experimenting to see what I can do. But without Photoshop training I quickly reach a barrier where my intuition and experience cannot help me from running up against the same problems over and over-I don't know what to do when the color is wrong, the photo looks drab compared to colors in the photographed scene, or an exposure problem makes the photo look too dark or too light. Photoshop training teaches you everything you need to know to create professional images: how to create special effects, how to sharpen the contrast of your photos, and how to correct common problems like color halos and digital noise. Fix common errors with Photoshop Elements 5 * Use the Quick Fix tool to correct the most common problems-color, contrast, and lighting. * It's easy to correct skin tones for a more natural appearance, even in photos where the original lighting is poor. * Correct red eye automatically when you download photos from your camera. * Correct camera lens distortion and other effects that detract from the perspective of your photos. * Remove blurring caused by poor lighting. * Use the Quick Fix tool to chart changes in the appearance of your photos with "before and after" views. How Photoshop training can help you achieve your career goals Adobe Photoshop is the leading software for image compositing and editing in every professional field where images are designed. Adobe Photoshop has revolutionized the design potential of graphic artists, engineers, and architects across the planet. As Lachmi Khemlani said in AECbytes, "I haven't come across a single architectural practice in the U.S. that doesn't use Adobe Photoshop ... Photoshop literally rules the roost when it comes to image editing and compositing in architectural firms." Sign up for Photoshop training today and find out how the power of Photoshop can help you achieve your full potential. The Photoshop interface hasn't changed a great deal since the earliest versions, so users can easily upgrade to Photoshop CS2 from any previous version. Photoshop CS2 has powerful new features that will aid designers in all fields. You can literally use Photoshop CS2 to create any visual effect that you can image-if you can dream it, you can create it with Photoshop. Like previous versions of Photoshop, CS2 is available for both Macintosh and Windows. And the best thing about the new version is the price: Photoshop CS2 costs less than previous versions of Photoshop. New features in Photoshop CS2 make it easier to composite images in multiple layers. In earlier versions it was necessary to select a required layer in the Layers palette. But now it's possible to select multiple layers by using a marquee tool. The Show Transform Controls feature allows objects to be reshaped faster than ever before, and it works across multiple layers. Smart Guides is another innovation that makes it easier to align objects, even if they're on different layers. What Photoshop training can do for you Photoshop is the industry leader for professional image creation, compositing, and editing. The first time you sit down to check out Photoshop, you're amazed by how much it can do. Photoshop CS2 has tools and filters that let you create any kind of visual effect imaginable. As filmmaker Scott Billups said, "Photoshop is the single most commonly used application in motion picture and high-end TV production. Everybody uses it, whether they're in pre-visualization, production, post-production, or distribution." Photoshop CS2 makes it easier than ever to integrate film images with computer-generated images and still photographs.
